About Nes Gard

Nes Gard is a family farm from 1850 and it is the 7th generation, Anders, who now runs Nes Gard after taking over from his parents in 2021.

We have a fantastic team that we are proud of. We look forward to welcoming you as a guest at Nes Gard and we will do everything we can to ensure that you have a fantastic stay here with us. You will meet our team high and low at Nes Gard throughout the day and we are happy to help you with hiking tips, heating the sauna or a glass of wine in the garden.

There have been major changes at Nes Gard over 170 years and perhaps especially in the last 20 years. In 2003, apple trees and traditional farming were replaced by guests and hikers. It was Anders' parents, Mari and Asbjørn, who started this journey. It began as a small bed & breakfast with 5 guest rooms with a season that lasted from June to August. After 20 years of renovation, maintenance and various construction projects, we now have a full hotel operation with 20 rooms and a season from February to October. The pig barn has been transformed into a wine bar and the cow barn has become a function room where we organize weddings and concerts.

We are keen to develop the farm further, but we will also make sure to maintain the cozy and intimate atmosphere we have created over 20 years.
