Dale Church
Dale Church is a beautiful stone church from 1250 in Gothic style, best known for its frescoes and mighty portal in soapstone. The interior is in Baroque style, with a beautiful altarpiece and, among other things, a special private cubicle for a local official family.
The porch has murals with biblical motifs, and a rune inscription on the northern portal shows that the church is dedicated to St. Nicholas. Dale Church takes its name from Dalsdalen, which from here cuts into Breheimen.
The church is open in the summer from June 1 to September 30, and has information posters in the church room. Only 10 minutes from Nes gard by car.
